Agripreneur MasterMind Program (AMPitUp T&T): Call to Action for T&T’s Best Agripreneurs
This is an intensive 8-week mastermind program, that is geared towards finding TnT’s Best Agripreneurs who are committed to mastering their individual crafts, and creating bridges and spaces for collaboration between policy makers and agricultural youth based organizations. These persons will be provided with mentorship and participate in professional development activities on ideation, social entrepreneurship, business models and pitches, fund-raising, effective communication, networking, collaborations, media development, social media engagement and press coverage.
The two (2) main outputs from this challenge will be:
1. A Business Plan to upgrade their existing product or service.
2. A 6-month Action Plan to address at least one challenge faced by Agripreneurs, including identified collaborators (government, private sector, university and youth NGOs).

- How do I participate in AMPitUP T&T?
To apply to AMPitUP T&T you will complete the application form which includes a required video submission by June 14, 2019. Please plan ahead to complete the 3 minute (max) video submission. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a phone interview in the week of June 17 – 21, 2019.
- When does AMPitUP T&T run?
AMPitUP T&T runs from July 1 to August 28, 2019.
- Who is eligible to participate in AMPitUP T&T?
If you are a youth (ages 18 – 35), and are citizen or a legal resident of Trinidad and Tobago with a business product or service along the agri-value chain then you are eligible to apply.
- What types of business are included in the Agri-Value Chain?
Businesses along the Agri-Value are not limited to but include the following: 1. Input Supplier ( e.g. Fertilizer, Leasing Land, Hydroponics Systems, Mobile Gardens, Green Houses) 2. Food Production 3. Post Harvest Technology 4. Processing & Value Addition 5. Marketing & Branding 6. Agri-Education, Journalism & Capacity Building 7. Digital Agriculture – App Development, VR, Sensors, IOTs, 8. Retailer & Wholesaler 9. Research & Development (Open Access Data)
- What training sessions does AMPitUP T&T provide?
AMPitUP T&T will provide practical and step by step guidance on entrepreneurship fundamentals e.g. development of a strategic business plan, effective financial management, fundraising strategies and grant writing, branding and marketing, building strategic partnerships and leveraging your network, securing a mentor, and self-care to avoid burnout.
- What are the deliverables of AMPitUP?
By the end of AMPitUP T&T you will have: 1. Strategic Business Plan 2. A 6 month Action Plan to upgrade your existing product & service. Based on the stage and status of your business individuals will also have registered their companies, adopted financial procedures to generate cash flow and or profit & loss statements, submitted at least 1 grant application, created a website or increased their business media presence.
- What does the winner of AMPitUP receive?
The top 3 Agripreneurs will receive cash prizes to invest in their business.
- How many official participants does the program have?
AMPitUP T&T 2019 cohort will comprise 10 Agripreneurs.
- How often does the cohort meet?
The cohort will meet once per week (Saturday/Sunday based on group consensus and availability) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for 8 weeks. The cohort will also meet for the program launch and closing ceremony. Participants may be required to meet as needed in groups (in-person or online) to complete weekly deliverables.
- Where will the program be held?
The program will include weekly training sessions/workshops and a field trip at various locations in POS, at the UWI St Augustine Campus, and in Central & South Trinidad.
- Will a travel stipend be provided?
The program will provide a fixed weekly travel stipend for official participants to help cover transportation costs to and from workshops.
- I’m not an official AMPitUP participant, will I be able to attend any of the training sessions?
Some training sessions will be open to the public but require prior registration (2 weeks in advance). Please look out for the registration links on our website and social media.
